Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to drive the overall design of rotating equipment for critical applications. You will oversee mechanical design, risk mitigation, material selection, and adherence to design codes and standards.

The role requires creating and maintaining engineering schedules, generating progress reports, and coordinating with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations. A background in leading small engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required with 5–10 years in mechanical design of industrial rotating machinery.
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code; Sec VIII or III.
• Strong design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and operation knowledge for centrifugal pumps.
• Ability to perform stress analyses and other design calculations.
• Lead role experience and ability to supervise engineers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Managers to set design strategies and deadlines to meet goals.
• Supervise engineers in design and analysis of pumps, motors, vessels, heat exchangers, and test loops.
• Mentor reporting engineers and develop project plans and schedules.
• Perform calculations and analyses needed for new unit design.
• Ensure compliance with company and contract design codes and standards.
• Lead and develop reporting engineers and manage project status.
