Job summary

Klaviyo seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer for Data Platform to shape the Data Lake strategy and drive cross-team initiatives across lakehouse storage, orchestration, and data models. You will own high-impact programs, set architectural direction, and partner with product, analytics, AI/ML, and governance teams to deliver a reliable, scalable data foundation.

You will mentor senior engineers, define reference patterns, and help ensure operations stay cost-effective and observable at scale.

Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems and data platforms.
Deep knowledge of data platform architecture and large-scale analytics.
Expertise in lakehouse, data ingestion/transformation, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

Own and drive high-impact technical objectives across multiple Data Platform teams, especially Data Lake.
Align roadmaps across Data Platform and maintain cross-team coordination.
Lead large cross-team initiatives from discovery through rollout and long-term ownership.
Make high-judgment architectural decisions across core systems and create reusable patterns.
Establish standards and abstractions to accelerate onboarding and reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, AI/ML, and governance stakeholders.
