Job summary

Obsolete Site’s Child Development Center at Fort Carson seeks a team leader to guide program staff delivering developmentally appropriate care for children aged 6 weeks to 18 years in CYS programs. The role emphasizes safety, growth through planned activities and strong English communication with staff and caregivers.

The incumbent must meet education requirements and possess credentials such as DoW, CDA or MSA or higher to support program quality and compliance with DoD directives.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The incumbent must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing to communicate with CYS team and customers, prepare reports and plans, and document observations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads program staff to ensure developmental care and instruction for children and youth aged 6 weeks to 18 years in CYS programs.
  • Promotes a developmentally appropriate program supporting social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth.
  • Instructs team members, provides written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
  • Develops and implements age-appropriate educational lesson plans, schedules and activities based on observed needs and interests.
  • Ensures staff follow health and safety standards including diapering, toileting, hand washing, cleaning, safe sleep, and illness care.
