Job summary

Navitas Systems LLC / East Penn Manufacturing seeks a Lead Product Engineer to design, develop, release and validate battery packs for customized industrial and mobility applications.

The role requires evaluating user requirements, creating specifications, and owning safety documents. You will collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer teams to deliver high-quality products and meet certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of product engineering experience in electronics, automotive, battery or mobility industries preferred.
• Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Integrity, ViSure) is a benefit.
• Knowledge of systems engineering standards: INCOSE, ISO 26262, ISO 15288.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and develop technical system specifications.
• Apply systems engineering methodologies to design and develop battery packs for customized applications.
• Lead the safety analyses (HARA, DFMEA, FMEDA) of the project.
• Participate in development of safety processes to meet certification requirements.
• Perform technical assessments and prepare documents for compliance to ISO, UL.
• Partner with test and simulation teams in the formulation of a plan (DVP) that ensures verification and validation to support product engineering goals.
• Engage with OEM partner engineering teams to ensure proper processes and seamless integration.
• Ability to handle tasks with significant complexity under minimal supervision requiring a high degree of technical competence, precision, and attention to detail.
• Follow and improve our processes, to ensure tight cross-functional coordination and quality work products are delivered.
• Report on your project progress, anticipate and alert on risks, propose mitigations.
