Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New Jersey seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join Enterprise Technology Infrastructure Platforms Cloud Foundational Services.

You will guide agile teams to build trusted, scalable, secure tech products and drive AI‑assisted engineering practices across the SDLC. The role emphasizes cloud security, automation, and architecture leadership, with a focus on delivering large‑scale AWS workloads using Python and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience developing and designing software using AWS Services, especially database products.
• Experience in cloud security, governance, identity & access management.
• Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in modern scripting languages and infrastructure as code practices.
• Expertise in Python and Terraform is a must.
• Hands-on experience delivering large scale AWS production workload infrastructure.
• Advanced understanding of AWS compute, containerization, and serverless architectures.
• Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Experience leading the use of enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted software development tools; ability to set team expectations for AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure, high‑quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives product design decisions, application functionality, and operations processes.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI‑assisted engineering practices with measurable validation standards.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value at scale.
• Serves as a function‑wide SME in one or more focus areas.
• Contributes to engineering community advocating firmwide SDLC frameworks and practices.
• Influences peers and project decisions to adopt leading‑edge technologies.
• Contributes to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
