Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own the AI platform and knowledge infrastructure driving marketing content generation at enterprise scale. You will shape the shared knowledge platform enabling compliant, on-brand content generation across channels and products.

You will lead RAG-driven retrieval, evaluation, and production AI operations, mentoring engineers and coordinating multi-team integrations within Capital One's EPTech group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Content Moderation Knowledge Library—corpus of regulatory rules and brand context for channels and products.
• Own the embedding search pipeline for grounded AI generation, including chunking strategy and index refresh.
• Lead Prompt MLOps with versioned prompts and evaluation loops against production data.
• Own the AI content compliance and generation platform APIs across engineering teams.
• Design the agentic critic validation stream with deterministic validators and LLM-based checks.
• Mentor engineers on RAG design, evaluation methodology, and production AI operations.
