Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking an AI Modernization Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Wealth Management Technology domain. You will help design, build, and ship agentic systems that ingest legacy mainframe logic and deliver modern, production-ready services in a secure, scalable way.

You will collaborate with domain SMEs to translate COBOL/JCL/DB2 into structured specifications, drive multi-agent orchestration, and ensure reliability and compliance in 24/7 production environments.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications — agentic architectures, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: distributed systems, API design, testing practices, and cloud platforms (AWS/EKS/ECS)
• Expert proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as core daily workflow
• Strong experience with Python development in production environments
• Demonstrated ability to operate and debug complex systems — you own what you ship
• Clear communicator who can articulate technical trade-offs to engineers and business stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise AI-assisted software development practices (secure usage, testing, reviews)
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Responsibilities

• Builds and operates the spec generation pipeline — ingestion, chunking strategies, and RAG that produce structured specifications
• Develops agentic workflows for code translation and migration — design and implement multi-agent systems (Kotlin/JVM)
• Builds evaluation infrastructure — automated test harnesses, parity testing, regression suites, confidence scoring
• Contributes to the standard calculation runtime — deterministic, auditable execution
• Partners with domain SMEs to validate agent outputs and refine prompt strategies
