Job summary

Nelson Labs in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking an experienced Chemist III to serve as a technical expert within our LC-MS data analysis team, overseeing the LC-MS portion of studies and ensuring accurate interpretation, analysis and reporting of results.

The role emphasizes method development, instrument validation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with clients to meet project goals while maintaining GMP/GLP compliance.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry preferred; or a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum five years of applicable laboratory experience.
• Strong knowledge of LC-MS chemistry, methods, and data analysis.
• Experience with LC-MS instrumentation, especially Orbitrap/Exploris.
• Experience with analytical method development and validation; site-to-site transfer is a plus.
• GMP, GLP, ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or similar regulated lab requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the LC-MS technical expert for testing and analysis.
• Develop, write, review, and validate SOPs and analytical methods.
• Perform method development and validation for new and existing testing.
• Troubleshoot LC-MS instrumentation and resolve technical issues.
• Lead method validation, workflow improvement, and lab capability projects.
• Provide technical support to clients and discuss testing parameters.
