Job summary

INEOS is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join the Battleground Site analytical laboratory team. The role focuses on leading liquid and gas chromatography testing of process materials, finished products, and development samples, ensuring result quality, and coordinating investigations tied to customer and plant issues.

The candidate will develop new methods, assess instruments, and support future lab needs, with technicians assisting in routine testing and training responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or equivalent; Ph.D. preferred or BS with 10+ years relevant experience.
• Adept in instrumentation utilization – HPLC, LC-MS, TOF-MS, GC-FID, GC-MS.
• Experience with xylene solubles and chemical extractions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or collaborate in a cross-functional, team-based environment to support production, product development, and operations projects.
• Coordinate lab workload with timely testing and maintain quality records (e.g., control charts).
• Actively participate in safety programs and promote safe practices.
• Provide technical leadership for lab management (safety, procedures, training, equipment maintenance and purchase).
• Maintain lab area and equipment in outstanding condition.
• Coach/mentor technicians and share workload.
• Prepare reports and data-driven conclusions.
