Job summary

SGI Global is seeking Law Enforcement Instructors for the United States Capitol Police (USCP). Qualified instructors will provide general entry-level and in-service training to sworn and civilian employees, supervisors, mid-level managers and command staff.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course materials, evaluating students, and updating content to reflect current law enforcement procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Federal Law Enforcement Center's LEITP or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or Police Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of law enforcement experience; 5+ years as an instructor may substitute for education.
• Extensive knowledge across topics including use of force, court procedures, search and seizure, arrests, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course materials, including content, sequence, and timing.
• Rate and score students and determine qualification status.
• Analyze training policies and propose revisions based on research and policy changes.
• Research case law and revise course content; outline coverage and goals for each lesson phase.
• Write lesson plans, course materials, evaluations, and management recommendations.
• Adapt course content as law enforcement procedures change.
• Evaluate student progress via tests and assessments.
• Stay current with training literature, participate in workshops and seminars.
