Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Sr. Operations and Integration Engineer to work full-time on-site at Los Angeles AFB in El Segundo, CA.

The role centers on accelerating the Vulcan NSSL program's operations and integration tempo, resolving bottlenecks with System Engineering, Mission Integration, and Launch Base teams. Minimum requirements include a BS in engineering, 12+ years in launch vehicles, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, and active DoD Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years in launch vehicles or related technical areas.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with program/project management (budgets).
• Experience with systems engineering and requirements verification.
• Experience with mission assurance/success processes.
• Ability to travel regularly.
• Active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI access; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Work system engineering tasks as a member of the Vulcan NSSL program team.
• Bridge technical effort across Vulcan systems, Mission Integration, and Launch Base teams.
• Engage subject matter experts as needed from across Aerospace’s matrixed Engineering Technology Group to solve hard technical problems.
• Recommend pragmatic solutions to technical and organizational challenges.
• Effectively communicate status and progress of technical activities, issues and accomplishments through reports and presentations to Aerospace, Government customers, and contractor teams.
• Provide real-time support for tests, training, and launch of Vulcan missions.
• Interact frequently and work closely with Aerospace management team.
