Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer to provide technical support for NSS spacecraft-launch vehicle integration. You will serve as the primary interface between launch vehicle and spacecraft program offices and contractors for USSF and NRO missions, and help create mission sets and Do-No-Harm assessments.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering or Science required.
  • 8+ years of related Systems Engineering and integration experience.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Well-grounded in spacecraft and launch vehicle technical areas.
  • Capability to lead teams of technologists to resolve multidisciplinary challenges.
  • Experience working with contractor personnel and across Aerospace organizations.
  • Ability to balance technical details and broader programmatic issues.
  • Requires Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track mission verification activities leading up to Day of Launch.
  • Develop SV-LV interface requirements and ICD verification approaches.
  • Support launch rehearsals and Day of Launch activities.
  • Support multi-manifest spacecraft integration.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across organizations.
  • Coordinate with launch vehicle programs, ETG, and launch sites to meet mission requirements.
  • Establish relationships with spacecraft programs and contractors.
  • Mentor Space Force officers and help develop program managers.
  • Prepare and present mission readiness briefings.
  • Incorporate mission integration requirements into future launch service plans.
