SiLC Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Laser Engineer to lead epitaxial design and laser/SOA device work from concept to high-volume production in Monrovia, CA.

You will collaborate with epi growth, silicon photonics integration, packaging, and test teams to drive device performance and reliability. The role requires deep expertise in III-V epitaxy and laser device physics, with 5+ years of hands-on experience and a track record of optimizing L-I-V, linewidth, and yield through disciplined

Qualificações

• PhD or MS with equivalent industry experience in optoelectronics or photonics.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in laser and SOA design and characterization.
• Expert in band-structure engineering and semiconductor/photonics device physics.
• Proficiency with simulation tools and photonics device characterization techniques.
• Strong data analysis skills for modeling and characterization data reduction.
• Clear communicator, capable of cross-functional collaboration in a fast-moving hardware environment.

Responsabilidades

• Design III-V epitaxial layer stacks (InP/GaAs, etc.) to optimize threshold, power, linewidth and reliability.
• Design DFB/DBR lasers and SOAs; define ridge geometry, cavity length, facet coatings and grating design.
• Manage epi growth and wafer runs with foundry partners; track yields and process disposition; interpret data from grower and fab.
• Perform device characterization (L-I-V, spectra, far-field, life testing) and build automated test setups and data pipelines.
