Job summary

Intel in Santa Clara is seeking a Senior Laser Designer to drive design, simulation, and development of photonics components including DFB lasers and semiconductor optical amplifiers. You will work with interdisciplinary teams to optimize performance and reliability, and lead test-chip execution from layout to validation.

• Master's degree with 3+ years experience OR PhD with 1+ years experience in photonics or related field.
• Proven expertise designing, simulating, and analyzing photonics components including DFB lasers and SOAs.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and develop photonics components such as DFB lasers and semiconductor optical amplifiers.
• Perform tolerance analysis and optimize components for performance, power efficiency, area, and reliability.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integration into system-level designs.
• Drive test chip execution from design to tape-out, test, and validation.
• Analyze test data to identify gaps and propose improvements.
• Develop advanced modeling methodologies for photonics components and systems.
• Lead research initiatives on novel photonics technologies and IP development.
