Job summary

Apple's Laser Engineering Team in Camera Semiconductor Devices (CSD) develops core laser technologies used in Face ID and related products. You will lead laser component development from concept to high-volume production, partnering with internal R&D and external vendors to meet specifications and roadmap goals.

As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll drive process integration, improve device performance and yield, and provide updates on MP readiness during development, enabling scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline with 3+ years of working epitaxy (EPI)/process experience.
• Experience working on several projects transferred from engineering development phase to high-volume production.

Responsibilities

• Design next-gen laser components and define ERS; relate specs to module/system level.
• Collaborate with laser component vendors to define process integration flow and steps.
• Improve device performance and yield during development with vendors.
• Resolve reliability and performance issues at module/system level during development.
• Review laser device yield and data from vendors; approve engineering samples.
• Provide regular updates to cross-functional teams on performance, yield and MP readiness.
• Drive vendors to develop key process technologies aligned with Apple roadmap.
• Explore and develop new laser device technologies with internal and external teams.
