Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge seeks Veterinary Technician 1, 2 or 3 to support the Large Animal Hospital. The role assists faculty clinicians, house officers, and veterinary students across ICU, isolation, and surgery with emphasis on equine and food animal services.

Flexibility for after-hours, weekends, and on-call shifts is required, along with strong infection control and safety practices. LVVT licensure in Louisiana is required and experience with horses is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in veterinary technology with RVT license.
• Active license with Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine as RVT.
• Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Capable of lifting more than 50 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.

Responsabilités

• Assist with day-to-day operations of Large Animal Hospital, including appointments, emergencies, and inpatient treatments.
• Assist with patient handling and monitoring, equipment setup, and biosafety protocols.
• Assist with client communication and medical records; enter and track charges.
• Provide clinical teaching and training to students and staff.
• Participate in holiday, weekend, and on-call emergency coverage.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
