Job summary

The Village of Wellington is seeking an experienced Public Works Supervisor to lead maintenance crews, technical staff, and contractors in assigned areas. You will manage day-to-day tasks, plan workloads, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering results with an operational focus.

You will oversee budgets, track records, train staff, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and improve service delivery in the landscape maintenance domain.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 3 years of professional experience in the area of assignment; certifications may be required within six months.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License and the ability to drive a Village owned vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes, coordinates, and schedules staff for assigned projects.
• Supervises maintenance, installation, and administrative tasks; ensures proper equipment use and maintenance.
• Estimates task and project costs and material quantities within budget.
• Maintains records and logs (work orders, time sheets, inventories, requisitions).
• Leads people management tasks including interviewing, selection, and performance evaluations.
• Oversees budget preparation and monitors expenses to meet financial goals.
• Inspects daily operations to determine priorities and resource needs.
• Provides training and oversight to staff on skills and procedures.
• Coordinates with stakeholders and responds to inquiries and complaints.
