Job summary

City of Portsmouth seeks a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor to plan, supervise, and inspect crews caring for city parks and facilities. You will schedule work orders, assign tasks, and ensure quality and safety in operations.

Role includes budgeting, staff development, and equipment maintenance while coordinating with other departments to meet city objectives. CDL not required but safe operation of equipment is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and 1-2 years of supervisory experience in landscaping or a related field.
• Experience planning, scheduling, and supervising landscape crews and operations.
• Ability to manage budgets, safety compliance and training programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise landscape maintenance for parks, recreational grounds and facilities.
• Schedule maintenance work orders and assign staff; inspect work in progress and upon completion.
• Ensure safety procedures and proper use of equipment; handle basic budgeting and staff development.
• Coordinate with city departments and management to meet deadlines and service levels.
• Respond to inquiries and service requests; maintain records and reports.
