Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior Landscape Architect / Project Manager to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. This role will support our Landscape Architecture department by leading the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate will bring strong design capabilities, technical expertise, project leadership experience, and a passion for creating meaningful outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and preparation of landscape architecture plans, construction documents, specifications, and graphics.
  • Manage landscape architecture projects from conceptual design through construction while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop creative site design solutions for commercial, residential, institutional, municipal, and mixed-use projects.
  • Prepare planting plans, hardscape plans, landscape details, site amenities, streetscapes, trails, parks, and outdoor gathering spaces.
  • Conduct site analysis and inventory existing site conditions including vegetation, topography, drainage patterns, and environmental constraints.
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, surveyors, architects, and other project consultants throughout project development.
  • Prepare presentation boards, renderings, exhibits, and visual materials for client meetings and project approvals.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout project execution.
  • Review project drawings and documents to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Attend client meetings, municipal meetings, and project presentations as needed.
  • Perform construction observation and assist with construction administration activities.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on landscape architecture projects.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, project pursuits, and business development efforts.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite to prepare plans, exhibits, and project deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 8+ years of experience in landscape architecture, site design, and project management.
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) licensure preferred.
  • Proven experience managing landscape architecture projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of planting design, landscape construction, and hardscape detailing.
  • Experience preparing landscape architecture construction documents and technical specifications.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in site design, planting design, hardscape design, and construction documentation.
  • Extensive horticultural knowledge including plant material identification, selection, and design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and rendering software.
  • Strong understanding of site grading and land development principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage client relationships, project schedules, and project budgets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience mentoring junior designers and landscape architects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
