Job summary

Cordoba Corporation in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to lead landscape design and greening projects for our Facilities Sector. You will coordinate with staff, consultants, and school stakeholders to deliver compliant, sustainable landscapes.

The role requires senior-level expertise in site planning, irrigation, grading, planting, and coordination with civil, electrical, and structural engineers. Onsite work and regional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of professional landscape architectural design experience, preferably on commercial or public projects.
• Three+ years supervising a team of landscape architects and staff.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college/university.
• Experience with graphic design and rendering software.
• Revit, Rhino and Lumion experience preferred.
• Strong design skills and organizational abilities.
• Experience coordinating with civil, electrical, and structural engineers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the staff, projects, programs, and activities of the Landscape Unit, providing professional leadership, technical direction, and guidance in landscape architecture and greening projects
• Provide technical direction to consultant landscape architects and design professionals engaged in district landscape architecture, greening, irrigation, grading, and related projects
• Serve as Landscape Architect of Record for district projects and coordinate preparation, review, and certification of plans and specs
• Plan, develop, and direct complex landscape projects including site planning, greening, irrigation, grading, planting, hardscape, and related site improvements
• Prepare and certify plans in accordance with laws, codes, and district requirements
• Lead in-house landscape architecture, greening, and land-use planning projects, establishing design solutions
• Coordinate preparation and review of drawings, specs, and construction documents for new and modified landscapes
• Develop and process Design Service Proposals and scopes of work for landscape services
• Lead community engagement with principals, teachers, parents, nonprofits, and stakeholders; incorporate input
• Review and approve consultant task orders, scopes of work, and related documents
• Prepare cost estimates, evaluate materials, and assess delivery methods
• Conduct site visits, assess site conditions, monitor progress, and resolve issues
• Review documentation supporting grant applications for landscape projects and ensure compliance
• Provide technical consultation to district management and project teams on landscape matters
• Review project designs for constructability, lifecycle, sustainability, accessibility, safety, and cost
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
