Job summary

RIOS is seeking a Senior Landscape Associate to lead the design and delivery of complex projects with independence and technical expertise. Associates act as project team leaders, coordinating workflows, mentoring staff, and contributing to ongoing growth through collaboration and innovation.

All positions at RIOS are hybrid with three days in office. The ideal candidate will manage multiple priorities, maintain design excellence, and ensure effective client and consultant communication while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Landscape architecture or related project delivery roles.
• Professional licensure or other relevant professional qualifications.
• Experience as Job Captain on complex projects and leading delivery.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and budgets/schedules.
• Direct client and consultant communication with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency with Rhino, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Grasshopper, and Dynamo.
• Understanding of BIM workflows, digital project coordination, and project management tools.
• Working knowledge of Deltek and Tonic.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex projects with independence and accountability.
• Manage multiple projects ensuring alignment with goals, scope, schedule and budget.
• Guide teams through design development, documentation, visualization, and construction coordination.
• Coordinate workflows, consultant collaboration, and internal communications.
• Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, fee proposals, and presentations.
• Maintain client relationships and support decision-making with context and objectives.
• Lead QA/QC for assigned scopes and identify risks with solution coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and foster an inclusive, collaborative studio culture.
