Job summary

RIOS, an international design collective in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex projects with independence, technical excellence, and accountability. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate interdisciplinary teams, advance design development, document and coordinate BIM workflows, and contribute to proposals while prioritizing sustainability and design excellence.

Excellent client and consultant communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of professional experience in architecture or related project delivery roles.
• Demonstrated experience as a Job Captain on complex projects.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and supporting budgets and schedules.
• Proficiency with Rhino, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Grasshopper, and Dynamo.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovative multidisciplinary design and technical project work with minimal oversight.
• Manage design and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with goals, schedule, scope, and budget.
• Guide design development, documentation, visualization, sustainability integration, and technical execution across all phases.
• Coordinate workflows, consultants, internal communications, and milestone readiness for project success.
• Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, fee proposals, and design narratives.
