Job summary

RIOS is seeking a Senior Architect in Los Angeles to lead the design and delivery of complex projects with high independence and technical expertise. You will mentor staff, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure sustainable, high-quality outcomes across all project phases.

The role demands strong leadership, deep knowledge of BIM workflows, and excellence in communication with clients and consultants. A hybrid office schedule is in place, with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in architecture or project delivery roles.
• Pursuing professional licensure or related qualifications.
• Experience as Job Captain on complex/multiple projects.
• Ability to lead project delivery and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong client/consultant communication with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency with Rhino, Revit, Adobe CS, Lumion, Grasshopper, and Dynamo.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and digital project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and technical delivery of complex projects with independence.
• Manage multiple projects in line with goals, schedule, scope, and budget.
• Guide teams through design development, documentation, visualization, and sustainability integration.
• Coordinate workflows, consultants, and internal communications.
• Contribute to proposals, RFPs, and presentation materials.
• Mentor junior staff and foster an inclusive studio culture.
• Lead quality assurance and risk coordination across project scopes.
