Job summary

RIOS in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Landscape Associate to lead the design and delivery of complex projects with high independence and technical expertise. You will guide project teams, mentor staff, and collaborate across architecture, landscape, and experience design.

The role emphasizes sustainable design, interdisciplinary work, and strong client communication, with a hybrid work model and three days in office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Landscape Architecture or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in landscape architecture or related delivery roles.
• Professional licensure or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience as Job Captain on complex/multiple projects.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows and budgets.
• Strong client and consultant communication with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in BIM workflows and digital coordination.
• Knowledge of Deltek and Tonic software.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovative multidisciplinary design and technical project work with minimal oversight and accountability.
• Manage design and delivery of multiple projects within goals, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Guide teams through design development, documentation, visualization, sustainability integration, and execution.
• Coordinate project workflows, consultant collaboration, internal communication, and milestone readiness.
• Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and fee proposals.
• Support client/consultant communication with contextual design objectives.
• Lead QA/QC for assigned scopes and coordinate risk solutions.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to an inclusive studio culture.
