Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks a Civil Engineer - Land Development in our Boston, MA area office to collaborate with project teams on permitting, planning, and land development for diverse clients including commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

You will contribute to site design, grading, stormwater management, and utilities, engaging with clients, contractors, and local officials from concept through construction and opening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineering In Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Previous internship preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HydroCAD, or Storm Sewers is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Create permitting and construction plans for land development projects.
• Prepare earth disturbance permit applications and zoning-related submissions.
• Design site layouts, grading, erosion controls, and stormwater facilities.
• Plan site utilities and coordinate with clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Support the project team through regulatory review, bidding, and construction.

Overview

As a Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Boston, MA office, you will work with project teams to create permitting and construction plans, earth disturbance permit applications, and municipal zoning and land development applications for our commercial, industrial, energy, institutional, and residential clients. From port facilities to multi-family housing and distribution centers to retail shopping centers, you'll take part in designing site layouts and grading, erosion and sedimentation controls, storm water management facilities, and site utilities. You will work with Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers to execute projects, and you will have the opportunity to interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials. You will be a part of the project team that impacts the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.
