Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Senior Surveyor/Professional Land Surveyor to supervise technical staff and support the Survey Manager in California. You will oversee office and field workload, review work products, and ensure schedules and budgets are met.

The role requires extensive surveying experience, PLS certification, and proficiency with Civil3D, Trimble software, and modern field instruments. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• California PLS registration required.
• 8+ years surveying and mapping experience.
• 3+ years project management experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with survey instruments and data collection.
• Experience with Civil3D and survey drafting.
• UAV/UAS and lidar data processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and technical oversight and guidance.
• Manage office and field workload under the Survey Manager.
• Review plats and prepare legal descriptions.
• Adhere to company policies and safety plans.
• Conduct quality control checks on projects and data.
• Supervise field crews or act as field crew chief.
• Perform surveys including ALTA/NSPS, boundary, topographic, and hydrographic surveys.
