Job summary

Labcorp is a global leader in laboratory services seeking a Technical Consultant to join our team in Houston, TX. The role involves overseeing technical components of the lab, collaborating with the Technical Director and Supervisors to ensure accuracy, and providing high-level technical support for validations and client inquiries.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science or related field and 5+ years of CLIA/CAP lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience in a CLIA, CAP laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical component of the laboratory to ensure patient results are reported reliably.
• Review AMR studies and instrument comparisons for accuracy.
• Work with the Technical Director and Supervisors to ensure testing accuracy and identify root causes.
• Provide technical support for validations and verifications as needed.
• Respond to client inquiries that are technical in nature and escalate when needed.
• Communicate with clients, physicians, nurses, and LabCorp staff with technical expertise.
• Projects credibility and builds rapport with medical doctors/LabCorp clients, providing quick/accurate responses to inquiries.
• Adhere to laboratory policies and procedures.
• Assist with other special projects as needed.
