Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX is seeking a Technical Consultant to join our team and help ensure reliable reporting of patient results across our CLIA/CAP environment. You will collaborate with the Technical Director and Supervisors to uphold instrument performance and test accuracy.

You will provide technical support for validations, respond to complex client inquiries, and communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, and LabCorp staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience in a CLIA, CAP laboratory environment.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures.
• Familiarity with Labcorp IT systems (LCLS, LCWS, SIS, eAssist) and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical component of the laboratory to ensure patient results are reported reliably.
• Work with the Technical Director and Supervisors to ensure accuracy for all testing and instrument performance.
• Provide additional technical support for validations and verifications as needed.
• Respond to client inquiries that are technical in nature and escalate when needed.
• Communicate with clients, physicians, nurses, and LabCorp staff with technical expertise.
• Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and reporting complex and routine test results.
