Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon is seeking a Laboratory Service Engineer to maintain and upgrade equipment in the applications lab. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor equipment, with hands‑on installation and documentation.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams on R&D activities and customer demos, supporting prototype equipment and developing procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent military training with 10+ years.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and fluidic systems.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom and using electronic test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations in an R&D environment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum equipment.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials with required PPE.
• Collaborate with process development, hardware, and software engineering on R&D activities and demos.
• Install and support prototype equipment, develop procedures and documentation.
• Align priorities across tasks with clear, proactive communication.
