Job summary

Lam Research in the California Bay Area seeks a Laboratory Service Engineer to maintain and upgrade equipment in our applications lab. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and calibrate state‑of‑the‑art equipment, contributing to the development of next‑generation semiconductor tools.

You will collaborate with process development, hardware, and software teams on R&D activities, while installing prototype equipment and documenting procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field with no prior professional experience; or equivalent military training with 2+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Graduate eligible role.

Responsibilities

• Operate in an R&D environment performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum equipment.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous gas and liquid materials using PPE.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on R&D activities, demos, and supporting equipment.
• Install and support prototype equipment, developing procedures and documentation.
• Prioritize tasks with clear, proactive communications.
