Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN is seeking a Laboratory Assistant III to support pre-analytical specimen processing, manage workflow in Specimen Processing, and perform phlebotomy across the facility.

You will assist Medical Technologists/Technicians, dispatch phlebotomists as needed, and collect blood, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and compliance with TN Medical Laboratory Board standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy Course (strongly preferred).
• 3+ years of Phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting (strongly preferred).
• Processing (Specimen Accessioning) experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills required; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• The Laboratory Assistant III handles pre-analytical duties in specimen processing.
• Manages workflow in Specimen Processing and dispatches Phlebotomists as needed.
• Performs blood collections and assists Medical Technologists/Technicians as required.
