Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Instrument Services Sr. Technician to calibrate, maintain, and complete major repairs of scientific instrumentation in client environments. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function.

You will lead maintenance activities, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure accurate documentation of inspections and repairs, while upholding CBRE RISE values and standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience.
• Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
• Intermediate math skills (percentages, fractions, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and care for equipment.
• Operate test equipment including multimeters, frequency generators, counters, galvanometers, oscilloscopes.
• Coordinate removal of equipment for extensive repairs during maintenance periods.
• Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems during unscheduled work.
• Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions; initiate corrective action.
• Review and document daily records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and other work.
• Coordinate with external contractors on repairs under maintenance agreements.
• Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
• Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.
• Track instrument reliability; suggest alternate service, supplier, and parts.
