Job summary

Eurofins Built Environment Testing seeks a seasoned Business Unit Manager (BUMa) to lead our Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas, NV lab operations. You will drive profitability, guide quality and safety programs, and partner with corporate teams to execute strategic plans.

Responsibilities include overseeing lab personnel, budgeting, client relations, and performance reviews, while promoting our safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• MS or PhD preferred
• At least 10 years of supervisory experience
• 10+ years in laboratory operations with profit/loss accountability ($5M+ net sales)
• Familiarity with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulations
• Excellent verbal and written skills; strong customer relations
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead team, schedule, and train employees
• Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
• Ensure coverage and performance across shifts
• Foster morale and teamwork
• Represent and promote the company vision
• Perform annual performance reviews for direct reports and coordinate reviews
• Oversee planning, direction, and control to meet company goals
• Manage budgeting, capital expenses, and cost control
• Coordinate activities with other locations to meet customer expectations
• Prepare technical studies and assist in marketing strategies
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental programs
• Establish professional client relationships and ensure compliance with policies
