Job summary

Holtec International seeks a Senior Labor Relations Specialist to serve as the plant’s labor-relations SME for the Palisades Nuclear Plant, reporting to Corporate HR. You will own contract administration, support bargaining, and build strong relationships with union leadership in a highly regulated environment.

This onsite role requires credibility with management and represented workers, prompt response to operational matters, and proactive risk mitigation across labor relations activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
• At least seven years of progressive HR, employee relations, or labor relations experience in a unionized environment.
• Experience interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements and managing grievances, discipline, investigations, and dispute-resolution processes.
• Experience supporting collective bargaining or contract negotiations, including research, proposal preparation, costing, implementation, or bargaining-table participation.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary labor relations advisor for the plant and provide guidance on CBA interpretation, past practice, grievance handling, discipline, attendance, scheduling, overtime, premium pay, and other represented-workforce matters.
• Administer CBAs consistently and document contract interpretations, settlements, side letters, and related commitments.
• Lead or support grievance investigations, mediation, arbitration preparation, and negotiation support with Corporate HR and Legal.
• Prepare for and participate in collective bargaining, including proposal development, costing, and implementation of negotiated changes.
• Analyze labor-cost drivers such as overtime and premiums and recommend corrective actions while respecting contractual obligations.
