Senior Labor & Employment Associate

Location: Newark, NJ

A leading global law firm is seeking a 4-6 year Associate to join its Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety practice in Newark. This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated practice handling a broad mix of employment litigation, investigations, counselling and transactional employment matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys and clients on complex workplace issues while taking on significant responsibility within a collaborative national practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of employment and labor law matters
• Handle employment litigation and workplace disputes
• Conduct and assist with internal workplace investigations
• Draft and review employment policies, agreements and other employment-related documents
• Advise employers on day-to-day workplace and compliance matters
• Support the employment aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
• Conduct legal research and draft substantive legal documents
• Work directly with clients on sophisticated employment matters
• Collaborate with attorneys across the wider Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety practice

Who You Are

• 4-6 years of labor and employment experience
• Experience advising and litigating employment and labor matters
• Experience conducting workplace investigations
• Strong experience drafting employment policies and employment-related documents
• Exposure to employment issues arising from mergers and acquisitions preferred
• Trial experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Compensation

Salary Range: $220,000 - $250,000 (DOE)
