Job summary

ZEISS in Kentucky is seeking a Lead Lab Technician to supervise lens manufacturing tasks under minimal supervision, with responsibilities ranging from routine to complex productions and potential supervisory duties.

You will maintain production reports, understand lens coatings and optical equipment, perform inspections, consult with customers, handle purchasing, invoicing, tinting, drill mounts, and shipping. This role emphasizes safety, quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in a lab or production environment in optics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Strong eye-hand coordination and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production reports and lens production records.
• Understand lens coatings and optical equipment; troubleshoot.
• Inspect lenses to CZV specifications and standards.
• Assist with supervisory responsibilities and task coordination.
• Consult with customers on various issues; perform purchasing/invoicing/tinting.
