Job summary

ABB Optical Group in Kentucky is seeking a Lab Technician/Warehouse Associate to support lab production from 4:45am to 1:30pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include measuring frames, processing lenses, packaging finished jobs for shipping, and maintaining high production standards.

The role involves operating finishing and tinting equipment, inspecting lenses, and upholding safety guidelines in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience for full-time employment
• Entry-level: No specific prior work experience required; training provided
• Proficient: Minimum six (6) months of optical manufacturing experience in same or similar position prior to skills assessment to determine ability to perform all applicable essential functions identified by their respective lab/department
• Ability to follow procedure and contribute as an individual and a team member

Responsibilities

• Use a tracing machine to measure frames, print and match paperwork to trays, read job tickets to locate frames and place in trays
• Invoice and package finished jobs; scan and bin into customer boxes for shipping
• Sort and receive frames into the system and place in colored trays
• Secure lenses in holding tools and operate finishing equipment; clear machine errors and maintain tools
• Mount, align, tint, and adjust lenses as required; change tint colors per specs
• Unload lenses, inspect for defects, and operate AR coating machines
• Meet or exceed production thresholds and follow standard operating procedures
• Report defects and inefficiencies to supervisors and participate in team meetings
• Ensure work area is clean and prepared for the next shift; adhere to OSHA guidelines and safety policies
• Overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned
