Georgetown University Medical Center, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, is seeking a Research Assistant III (Laboratory Technician) to support grant-funded studies in the woodchuck model. The role involves coordinating sample processing and performing assays to determine viral titers and immune responses in blood, liver, and other tissues.

The candidate will train and supervise undergraduates and graduates, handle woodchuck samples, and ship materials to collaborating labs.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with several years of lab experience.
• Experience with viral and host assays for HBV or similar viruses preferred.
• Ability to follow standardized laboratory protocols and adapt to woodchuck-specific assays.
• May require university certification for handling radioisotopes (32P).

Responsabilidades

• Process woodchuck samples (blood, serum, liver, tissues).
• Perform viral and immune assays, including ELISAs and real-time PCR.
• Train and supervise Undergraduate and Graduate students.
• Ship samples to diagnostic or collaborating laboratories.
