Job summary

Cabot Corporation, based in Billerica, MA, seeks a Sr Lab Technical Operator to join the Analytical Department. You will prepare materials, set up analytical equipment, and perform feedstock characterization with process simulations.

You will keep detailed records, calibrate instruments, and maintain safety and quality standards. The role requires an Associate degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of related experience, with comfort in high-temperature, pressurized lab systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in technical discipline and at least 2 years of related experience.
• Broad knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and protocols.
• Preferably experience with high-temperature, pressurized laboratory systems.
• Strong troubleshooting ability for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
• Ability to classify and organize data and plan work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up analytical equipment for feedstock analysis.
• Characterize carbon black feedstock and run process simulation testing.
• Prepare materials for routine and non-routine tests and adjust parameters.
• Ensure tests are thorough and conducted on time; interpret results.
• Calibrate equipment and perform routine maintenance when needed.
