Job summary

Cabot Corporation in Billerica, MA is seeking a Sr Lab Technical Operator to join the Analytical Department. You will perform chemical and physical testing of carbon black feedstock and operate complex equipment for characterization and process simulation.

The role requires 4+ years in a lab setting or an associate degree with relevant experience, plus strong troubleshooting, data handling, and adherence to safety procedures. Salary ranges from $61,750 to $84,900 with full benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of related experience or an Associate degree with 2+ years in a lab setting.
Broad knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and protocols.
Experience with high-temperature, pressurized laboratory systems preferred.
Strong troubleshooting ability for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation issues.

Responsibilities

Set up analytical equipment for feedstock analysis.
Conduct carbon black feedstock characterization and process simulation testing.
Prepare materials for routine and non-routine testing and adjust testing parameters.
Ensure that tests are conducted thoroughly and on a timely basis.
Keep notes and enter data into the database; generate data summaries.
Calibrate testing equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Adhere to safety procedures and RC14001/SH&E standards as applicable.
