Job summary

St. Jude researchers rely on robust IT infrastructure, and this Senior OR Level II Research Laboratory Infrastructure Engineer will join the Laboratory IT Services team to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable compute and research technologies across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The role emphasizes systems administration, networking, and information security to support a diverse biomedical research environment and institution-wide collaboration in Memphis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Engineering/Business or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.
• Some experience with biomedical research or high-end instrumentation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee configuration and management of IT infrastructure to support data retention, security, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and evaluate efficiency of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.
• Lead and manage internal infrastructure per regulations and standards.
• Implement and monitor incident, problem, and disaster recovery processes for infrastructure support.
• Provide current usage statistics and future growth estimates based on demand.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop capacity planning metrics and availability.
• Present capacity planning and performance reports to senior leaders.
• Benchmark and recommend improvements to IT infrastructure.
• Perform other duties to meet department and institutional goals.
