Job summary

Texas Oncology in Katy, TX is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team. Under direct supervision, you will collect and process specimens, document results, and support instrument maintenance in a CLIA laboratory.

This entry- to senior-level role offers exposure to chemistry, hematology and immunology testing, daily patient flow support, and a comprehensive benefits package. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Level 2 adds minimum three years laboratory experience.
Level Sr adds minimum five years laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

Collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
Maintains proper documentation per QA program (logs, reports, quality control, equipment records).
Performs specimen analysis of chemistry, hematology, immunology as directed.
Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures viability for testing.
Preps patients as necessary (e.g., vital signs).
Assists with testing procedures per guidelines.
Sends specimens to reference labs when needed; processes orders and results for charting.
