Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse II - Labor and Delivery (Mandatory Call) to plan and deliver comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections, under CNA supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Two years of Labor & Delivery experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical & psychosocial assessment of patients across age groups with attention to cultural differences.
• Manages perinatal emergencies such as crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia.
• Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding and recognizes abnormalities.
• Effectively manages pain control in the laboring patient.
• Assists with epidural catheter placement and monitors status during placement and after medication administration.
• Educates patients and families in perinatal and postpartum care, tailored to age, culture and learning readiness.
