Job summary

Northwell Career Site is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of experience to provide age-appropriate nursing care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with physicians and health team members to coordinate procedures and treatments, using clinical judgment to direct the care unit team.

The role requires strong assessment skills, patient and family education, and active involvement in discharge planning, safety, and documentation within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse; CT license also acceptable.
• BLS required; additional certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physiologic health status and plan.
• Assess psychosocial health and identify teaching needs.
• Develop patient outcomes and establish individualized goals.
• Formulate and coordinate the plan of care and priorities.
• Implement the plan of care and ensure safety and accuracy.
• Evaluate care and measure outcomes for improvement.
• Collaborate with care team and physicians in planning and execution.
• Perform Decubitus care and skin integrity procedures.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Educate patient and family and assist with discharge planning.
• Perform related duties as required.
