Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Kubernetes Service Engineer to design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms across a multi-cluster Kubernetes estate in a fully remote US role. You will implement mTLS, traffic management, and observability to deliver secure, reliable connectivity for applications.

The ideal candidate has production experience with Envoy, strong Kubernetes networking knowledge, and hands-on tooling in Go or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or networking.
• Hands-on production experience with Istio or Linkerd.
• Deep understanding of Envoy, Kubernetes networking, and mTLS.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate service mesh platforms across multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
• Implement mTLS, certificate rotation, and identity propagation across the mesh.
• Define traffic management policies including routing, retries, circuit breaking, and fault injection.
• Integrate the mesh with ingress/egress and API gateways for unified traffic management.
• Build observability for mesh traffic with distributed tracing and topology visualization.
• Profile and optimize mesh performance and resource usage.
• Develop onboarding guides and paved-road adoption patterns for app teams.
• Operate service mesh upgrades and maintain governance.
