Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Kubernetes Service Engineer to design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms across a multi-cluster Kubernetes estate.

The role emphasizes platform engineering, mesh adoption, mTLS, traffic policy, and helping application teams reap the benefits of a mesh with pragmatic, scalable patterns. Production experience and strong Envoy knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or networking.
• Hands-on production experience with Istio or Linkerd.
• Strong understanding of Envoy proxy internals.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise with networking, CNI, and ingress.
• Knowledge of mTLS, PKI, and certificate lifecycle management.
• Experience with distributed tracing and observability for mesh traffic.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for tooling and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across networking, app, and control plane.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate service mesh platforms across multi-cluster Kubernetes.
• Implement and operate mTLS, certificates, and identity propagation.
• Define traffic policies: routing, retries, circuit breaking, fault injection.
• Integrate mesh with ingress, egress, and API gateway tiers.
• Build observability for mesh traffic with tracing and topology visuals.
• Design multi-cluster mesh topologies for HA and tenant isolation.
• Profile and optimize mesh performance and resource use.
• Develop onboarding guides to simplify mesh adoption.
• Operate mesh upgrades and configuration governance.
• Collaborate with SRE, platform, and security teams on policy.
