Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Service Mesh Engineer to design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms—primarily Istio and Linkerd—across our Kubernetes estate. This role emphasizes platform engineering, mesh adoption, mTLS, traffic policy, and enabling application teams to gain mesh benefits without unnecessary complexity.

The ideal candidate has production experience with service mesh, deep Envoy data plane knowledge, and strong Go or Python automation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or networking roles.
Hands-on production experience with Istio or Linkerd.
Strong understanding of Envoy proxy internals and config.
Deep Kubernetes expertise including networking, CNI, and ingress.
Knowledge of mTLS, PKI, and certificate lifecycle management.
Experience with distributed tracing and observability for mesh traffic.
Proficiency in Go or Python for tooling and automation.
Strong troubleshooting across networking, apps, and control plane.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms (Istio/Linkerd) across our Kubernetes estate.
Focus on platform engineering, mesh adoption, and mTLS; traffic policy and security governance.
Enable application teams to reap mesh benefits with minimal added complexity.
Provide observability and operational excellence for the mesh data plane and control plane.
