Job summary
Insight Enterprises is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and operate a repeatable Kubernetes platform across Azure regions. You will deploy AKS clusters, create regional stamps with Terraform, and implement GitOps for workload deployment using Flux or Argo CD.
The role emphasizes security, observability, and operational excellence. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor senior engineers, and drive scalable cloud-native solutions in a remote-friendly setup with Azure services
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Go with microservices
- Deep experience with Kubernetes in production
- Extensive hands-on Azure experience with AKS and services
- Strong IaC/DevOps using Terraform, CI/CD, and GitOps
- Experience leading architectural decisions and mentoring engineers
- Security, performance, and observability focus
Responsibilities
- Design and implement production AKS clusters across Azure regions.
- Create standardized regional AKS stamps using Terraform/Bicep.
- Implement GitOps-based workload deployment with Flux/Argo CD.
- Design node pools, autoscaling, upgrades, and cluster resiliency.
- Configure Entra Workload Identity and Key Vault integration.
- Engineer ingress/egress with Application Gateway, NGINX, and Azure Front Door.
- Build observability with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
