Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for the Apple Services Engineering team in Seattle, WA. You will help build and optimize Kubernetes-based platforms that power iCloud, Siri, Maps, and other services at scale.

You’ll work on core Kubernetes components, improve availability, and collaborate with SRE and cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable infrastructure for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in distributed systems, container orchestration, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience with building and scaling core components of Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems.
• Experience with Kueue, Yunikorn or related technologies to increase efficiency of Kubernetes clusters preferred

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality that enable Kubernetes clusters to meet their needs around container orchestration.
• Improve the scalability, availability, and performance of our services centered around Kubernetes
• Evolve the design and architecture to support continued growth while ensuring customer satisfaction and smooth operations
• Partner with SRE to triage, investigate, and remediate production issues
