Job summary

Apple seeks an experienced software engineer to join the ASE Compute team and help Kubernetes-driven workloads scale for global services like iCloud, Siri, and Maps. You will work on core components and controllers to optimize deployment, resilience, and performance.

Collaborating with distributed teams, you’ll drive features from conception to production, focusing on container orchestration, scalability, and reliability in a Kubernetes-centric environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in distributed systems, container orchestration, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience with building and scaling core components of Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems.
• Experience with Kueue, Yunikorn or related technologies to increase efficiency of Kubernetes clusters preferred.
• Highly proficient in Golang and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality that enable Kubernetes clusters to meet needs around container orchestration.
• Improve the scalability, availability, and performance of services centered around Kubernetes.
• Evolve the design and architecture to support continued growth while ensuring customer satisfaction and smooth operations.
• Partner with SRE to triage, investigate, and remediate production issues.
